Major bob beutler
Bob Beutler grew up in Prior Lake, Minnesota—Bob describes his childhood simply: “We were definitely rednecks. I became a true lake kid with horses in the front yard and boats in the back.” He became an Eagle Scout, lifeguard at Tomahawk Scout Camp, and after graduating in 1983, attended the University of Minnesota where he joined Kappa Sigma fraternity and enlisted in the Minnesota Army National Guard. Trained as a helicopter pilot, he logged over 800 hours, earned fixed-wing ratings, and retired as a Major after 20 years of service.
Aviation runs deep in his family. His grandfather flew in World War I (for Germany) before immigrating to Minnesota in 1924, later becoming one of Northwest Airlines’ first employees in 1926. Skilled in aluminum welding during the early days of aviation, he met legends like Charles “Speed” Holman, Charles Lindbergh, and Amelia Earhart. Bob’s father also worked for NWA after immigrating from Germany in 1954. With that legacy and his Army training, Bob’s lifelong passion for flying was set.
Alongside his service, Bob built a successful 30-year career in real estate. Known for treating every transaction like a mission briefing—clear, focused, and client-centered—he helps clients buy, sell, and invest in property, with expertise in real estate marketing, finance, and maximizing and protecting your home’s equity.
Bob credits the military with teaching him a life-guiding truth: “Always have a plan, work the plan, and the outcome will follow.” It’s a principle he’s passed on to his children—his son Brooks, an aspiring professional pilot, and his daughter Georgia, a U.S. Space Force officer and Air Force Academy graduate with 800+ parachute jumps.
Now based in Wayzata, Bob is as comfortable on the water as he is in the cockpit or at the closing table. He jokes, “I don’t think I’ll ever retire—why would I? I love what I do.”
